Postpartum Doula Services

A postpartum doula provides evidenced-based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. - American Pregnancy Association.

In addition to breastfeeding support, SonShine & Rainbows Lactation provides postpartum doula services! Our family centered support focuses on insuring parents and baby have a successful adjustment period.

Our daytime doula support sessions may be scheduled in 2-6 hour increments.

Rainbow Bridge Prenatal:

8 hours - $300

• Prepare nursery

• Unpack & put away baby shower gifts

• Prepare baby items

• Assist packing hospital/birthing center bag

• Assist preparing home for homebirth

• Baby laundry (wash, dry, fold, store)

• Light housekeeping

Rainbow Bridge Postpartum (following return home):

4 hours - $150

• Welcome family home

• Walk/care for pets if needed

• Prepare nursery

• Unpack hospital bags

• 2 loads of laundry (wash, dry, fold, store)

• Light housekeeping

• Prepare light meal

Each of our postpartum packages comes with the following options:

• Complimentary prenatal breastfeeding education class

• Walking pets/feeding pets

• Interpreting Baby Behavior

• Diapering and Baby Care

• Emotional Support

• Light Housekeeping

• Errands (within 20mins of clients home)

• Resources & Referrals 

• Postpartum mood disorder education
